“If the flower doesn’t bloom then you change the environment in which it grows”
Without giving too much away see below for a little more about our special guest.
Manisha Tailor MBE is a former Deputy Headteacher, having worked in primary education for 19 years. She qualified as a Headteacher in 2011, but shortly after this embarked upon a career change due to personal circumstance. This led her to the next chapter in her life, setting up her company, Swaggarlicious Ltd and building a career in football, stemed from her childhood passion.
Manisha became a young carer 22 years ago, along with her family caring for her twin brother who suffered a mental breakdown as a result of bullying and trauma. This inspired her to develop work around mental health for adults and children, publishing a teaching resource titled, Child in Mind, that promotes open dialogue around mental health through pictures, poems and stories. Manisha recognises the important role sport can play as a vehicle for positive mental health, developing relationships and both physical and emotional literacy.
Alongside this, she works fulltime at QPR’s academy as Lead Foundation Phase Coach, overseeing the U9-U11 age groups in addition to coaching in the Youth Development Phase.
