1 Activity To Do

This week is a simple yet very powerful activity!

I want you to take on the “No” Challenge.

Say “no” to at least three unnecessary requests or activities that don’t align with your goals.

Use the time saved to focus on a task that drives personal or professional growth.

Notice the impact of saying no both at home and work.

Also take note of how the person you said no to received the message.

(I have spoken to at least 4 coaching clients this week that are feeling overwhelmed with workloads. They have all committed to practicing saying “no”.  I am looking forward to hearing how this has helped them)

1 Question For You

As yourself this week…

Am I promotable?

Probably a good follow-on queston may be …

How do I become (more) promotable?

I have been thinking about this lately and speaking with many clients.

One clear point that really made me think was…

Don’t be too irreplaceable.

If you do become this, then there is less of a likelihood that you will get promoted.

1 Idea To Consider

This week I want you to consider the idea of expertise.

We often equate it with mastery and authority, but is it also about curiosity, growth, and the willingness to say, “I don’t know”?

True expertise might lie as much in what we ask as in what we answer.

So consider the following…

How do you define expertise in your own life? Is it about knowing the most, or is it about staying open to learning and evolving?

As Socrates once said:

“I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing.”

What does it truly mean for you?

Capture your reflections and thoughts and be mindful of how tyour view guides you.

(It was the speaker at a recent leadership summit that was the stimulus behind this idea. Thank you RK!
