1 Activity To Do
The Paralympics have just finished and it has made me reflect on many things. Ability, disability, comparison, success, failure, focus, audience, coaching, energy, optimism, perspective. I could go on. Each day this week, notice the world around you become conscious of those that have a different level of ability to you. Capture what you think about this and how it makes you feel. How might this challenge and or support the way you turn up in the world. Take action on ‘ONE BIG THING’ that resonates and enthuses you towards being yourself with skill! (I thank all those who I work with who are involved with Paralympic sport, and also those I felt I got to know better when I watched on the television. You have made me think and reflect!)
1 Question For You
Take the whole week to sit with and answer this question… Who are the people in my life that have truly seen me? They have seen me and appreciated me for who I am and what I bring! How do I know they see me and what does this make me feel? And as a nice little follow on…. What is in my control that I can do to ensure more people truly ‘see me’? (As always, PHJ and AHJ were part of some fabulous conversations and exploration related to ‘being seen’. A real privilege and thanks!) .
1 Idea To Consider
This week consider the idea of doors opening and closing in your career and wider life. Which doors may need closing and opening and which rooms would you like to be in? I heard this week – It’s better to admit you walked through the wrong door than to spend your whole life in the wrong room. Also, how long do you stay in a room before recognizing it is wrong, and then deciding to leave it? On a positive note how aware are you that it is the ‘right’ room? (A massive thanks to FL and PS, and some close friends for the discussions about the future and opportunities. These have been the catalyst for considering the idea of ‘doors’ and ‘rooms’.) .
